For the average person, public speaking isn’t a natural art, and can be made worse when the audience is a client or other professional group of your peers. That setting can make a person feel like every mistake is magnified, and that everything they do while in front of a group is awkward. Thankfully, the average person can do a couple of things to feel more comfortable giving a presentation to a group that are quick and effective.

One quick tip is to give a mock presentation to yourself in a place where you would feel just as awkward giving a speech in as the presentation room. Many people opt to practice in front of mirrors in a restroom or a public place where people would be in earshot. Giving your presentation to yourself with these other people around you funneling in the background can cut through your inhibitions.
